We have collected all the Vivitar universal remote codes that can be used to program the different branded TVs. Although the Vivitar-branded remote is not used much by people, thousands still use it for their televisions as a spare and third-party remote because of the product quality.
As Vivitar is now owned by Sakar, it scaled back its focus on the production of universal remotes, and there are no significant upgrades on their existing models, but still, some stocks are available in the market, maybe old stock.
It’s a great product that is compatible with so many popular TV brands, but it needs to program with a specific code.
It’s everyone’s fault for keeping the code booklet secure for future reference when the remote got unpaired anyway. If you’re like most people who misplace the code booklet, don’t worry! Here’s a list of codes to help you out.

Automatic scan is available with the model remote, but it’s always better to use the proper code because it can save our time and effort in pairing.
Have you tried the auto-scan feature? Hold down the Power button and the device button (like the TV), then press and hold Play until your TV turns off. It might take a few minutes.
If you need the direct code entry method, keep reading. Note the codes from the above list to keep pairing simple.
How to program the Vivitar universal remote?
- point the remote to the TV and press the TV button on the remote
- Hold down the Setup button until the LED at the top lights up
- Next, enter the 4-digit code for your TV brand
- The light will flash four times once you’ve entered the correct code.
- If you make incorrect input, the light will get turned off.
- Next, aim the remote at the TV and press the power button to test.
- Test with all other keys on the remote.
That’s all about pairing.
Do the same procedures if you want to pair it for other devices like DVD players, audio devices, set-top boxes, etc. Tested the pairing with the Vivitar URC-713, and 720 models, and working fine.
There is a special gift for the reader that I am going to share the user manual pdf file so that you can keep it on your phone or get a printed copy of it for future usage.
Get it from this link
When I checked the official website, I couldn’t find any upcoming products or existing products under the universal remote category but could get some pieces from other online shopping websites like eBay, Etsy, etc.
Still wonder why they discontinued it, it is because of such a good product it was.
Did these codes work for you and were successfully programmed? If not, let me know in the comments, If not I’ll help you troubleshoot.
Keep updated on your progress within the comment section. I can see some codes won’t work with some branded devices. If you find a little time to post a comment here on what code works for other devices like set-top boxes, other visitors can find your comment useful.
